Douglas W. Day, FCSI, CCS, Director

Douglas W. Day, FCSI, CCS, Principal of Douglas Day Associates, a specification consulting firm headquartered in Foster City, CA. Mr. Day holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon.

Mr. Day has more than 40 years of specification writing experience working on medical, institutional, educational, and hospitality projects.  Prior to establishing his own firm, Mr. Day was a partner in a national architectural firm.

Mr. Day has been active in the Construction Specifications Institute since 1965, holding Chapter, Regional, and National Institute offices, advanced to Fellow in 1976, and has served as a Director of CSRF since 1994. Serving as President of CSRF from July 1999 to July 2004.  Mr. Day has utilized his vast industry experience to continue the aggressive development of CSRF's SPECTEXT® Master Guide Specifications.

Mr. Day and his family reside in Foster City, CA, where he has been or is currently active in a number of civic and service-related organizations, including Kiwanis and the American Red Cross, Grace Cathedral and the Heritage (a life-care facility).
