Spectext® Announces Masterformat™04 Implementation Schedule

Baltimore, Maryland - The Construction Sciences Research Foundation, Inc. (CSRF) developers of SPECTEXT® Master Guide Specifications officially announced its schedule for inclusion of the MasterFormat™04 Section numbering system in all of its SPECTEXT® Libraries. MasterFormat™04 is a major revision over previous editions of the numbering format and introduces numerous new Divisions and relocates and renames many Sections accordingly.

Beginning with the Summer 2005 Edition of SPECTEXT® Master Guide Specifications, subscribers will have the option of writing specifications utilizing either the familiar MasterFormat™95 numbering system or the newly introduced MasterFormat™04 numbering system, which is currently being adopted industry-wide. This capability will be provided to the subscriber at no extra cost. Additionally, software will be available to assist the subscriber who desires to completely convert his existing in-house master from the
current five-digit MasterFormat™95 to the new six-digit MasterFormat™04.

SPECTEXT® provides an accepted industry standard framework for writing technically superior specifications and is the only commercially available system that follows the standard formats - MasterFormat™, SectionFormat™, PageFormat™ and CSI Manual of Practice - recommended by the Construction Specifications Institute.

SPECTEXT® is written, reviewed and maintained by nationally recognized, practicing engineering and architectural specification writers who collectively represent several hundred years' experience in preparing actual project specifications for a wide variety of projects going out to bid on a daily basis.

CSRF is an independent, not-for-profit construction industry research organization dedicated to unifying and integrating communication between programs and design/communications processes used in facilities design and construction.
