Spectext® Announces Masterformat04 Implementation Schedule
Baltimore, Maryland - The Construction Sciences Research Foundation, Inc. (CSRF) developers of SPECTEXT® Master Guide Specifications officially announced its schedule for inclusion of the MasterFormat04 Section numbering system in all of its SPECTEXT® Libraries. MasterFormat04 is a major revision over previous editions of the numbering format and introduces numerous new Divisions and relocates and renames many Sections accordingly.
Beginning with the Summer 2005 Edition of SPECTEXT® Master Guide Specifications, subscribers will have the option of writing specifications utilizing either the familiar MasterFormat95 numbering system or the newly introduced MasterFormat04 numbering system, which is currently being adopted industry-wide. This capability will be provided to the subscriber at no extra cost. Additionally, software will be available to assist the subscriber who desires to completely convert his existing in-house master from the

current five-digit MasterFormat95 to the new six-digit MasterFormat04.
SPECTEXT® provides an accepted industry standard framework for writing technically superior specifications and is the only commercially available system that follows the standard formats - MasterFormat, SectionFormat, PageFormat and CSI Manual of Practice - recommended by the Construction Specifications Institute. SPECTEXT® is written, reviewed and maintained by nationally recognized, practicing engineering and architectural specification writers who collectively represent several hundred years' experience in preparing actual project specifications for a wide variety of projects going out to bid on a daily basis.
